Welcome to an anecdote of over 50 years of music. In the mid 1970s, I had the fortune to experience high quality recording, PA and electronic gear way ahead of its time in rural Australia. Sennheiser microphones, solid state mixers, and powerful amplifiers coupled with 22 inch woofers, Altec Lansing base bins and high power horn tweeters.  Sometimes the city hall roof would lift with more than a few kilowatts of power. Drum kit microphones and foldback soon followed.
